    the famous and influential guitarist, preferred his Gretsch guitars with a zero fret. It is said
that he asked Gretsch to install a zero fret on all his guitars.
George Harrison
    so many of The Beatles' hit songs and live performances were played with Gretsch guitars that have zero frets.
Paul McCartney
    has played his entire career with a Hofner 500/1 Bass guitar that has a zero fret.
One of the richest electric guitar sounds in rock history,
was created by Brian May and his guitar, The Red Special,
which he built himself with a Zero Fret !

Selmer-Maccaferri guitars are still being made,
and they still have a Zero Fret.  Now they are called Gitane.
